4 Awesome PlayStation Tips to Enjoy Gaming to the Fullest
Whether you already own a PS4 or have bought one just recently, there is a high possibility that you aren’t aware of its many settings and features that can actually make a dramatic improvement in your gaming experience.
While there are excellent PlayStation repair solutions, you should know how to use your console properly so that it will be in top condition for longer. Here are answers to some questions you might have gotten about your Sony console.
1. Putting Your PS4 in Rest Mode
To start with, go to settings -> Power Saving Settings -> Set Features Available in Rest Mode and choose the options you want. ‘Supply Power to USB Ports’ will enable you to keep charging any controllers that are connected to electricity even after the console is turned off, whereas ‘Stay Connected to the Internet’ will enable your PS4 to download updates and content so that your games are kept ready when you come back and upload your saved data to online storage. ‘Keep Application Suspended’ will enable you to jump directly back to your game or app and start from where you left.
Once you choose one of these options, either press power button on PS4, hold the PS button on the controller or choose ‘Power’ on the home screen and select ‘Power’ on the Quick Menu and you’ll enter Rest Mode. Its activation will be indicated as the power button (Slim models) or light bar (original/Pro model) will turn orange.
2. To Make the Charge of PS4 Last Longer
By going to Settings -> Devices -> Controllers, the Brightness of DUALSHOCK 4 Light Bar can be reduced from Bright (Standard) to Medium or Dim, which can prolong the charge. Also by visiting Settings -> Power Saving Settings -> Set Time Until Controllers Turn Off, you can choose your desired time; thus if you’re away from your PS4 when it’s turned on, your controller will power down automatically while idle to stop the draining of battery.
3. Using Headsets/Headphones
Most headsets and headphones can be plugged into the 3.5 mm jack socket on the controller. If all of the sound is desired instead of just chat, you can go the headphones/headset and hold down the PS button to access the Quick Menu and select Sound/Devices -> Output to Headphones -> All Audio.
4. Downloading PS4 Games
To download PS4 games, choose the PlayStation Store icon which is on the left of the home screen. Next, search for the games you want. There are numerous demos and other free download which you can try out. However, if you want to buy a game, you’ll have to either apply store credit by redeeming a code or register a bank card on your account.
Use these tips to make the most of your PS4 and enjoy gaming to the fullest.
