Going on Vacation – What is an Ideal Tech Companion For You
Before smartphones, tablets and social media, people were going on vacation to take a hiatus from just about everything – there were no emails, no breaking news. Nowadays, we seem to be addicted to all of that: we rely on online navigation, online suggestions on where to go, what to see and eat. And there is so many choices when it comes to gadgets, therefore it might be tricky to figure out what tech item should be taken on a ride. We all have a different view on vacation. There are people who look for a get away from a routine and to relax, but still they want to stay connected with friends. Others yearn for unwinding their minds and a complete departure from daily lives, such as going on African safari, scuba diving or mountain climbing. And there are some of us who think that it’s desirable (or just necessary) to do a small bit of work remotely. We don’t have the same needs, therefore there is no universal device to be taken on vacation.
Is a laptop what you really need on your vacation? Its balance and weight should be taken into consideration. It’s more recommended to take more portable, smaller models such as netbooks, notebooks and, of course tablets. A tablet (and iPad) is ideal for videos, photos, movies, reading, navigation, web browsing. Tablets are nowadays so affordable and lightweight which makes them arguably the best high-tech travel companion. However, if you need to get some work done while on a holiday (and your family has nothing against it), you should take a device with a hardware keyboard and more powerful processor.
On the other hand, in the only thing you want on vacation is to stay connected with your friends (via social networking apps), opt for a smartphone. It allows users to perform light browsing, stay connected and updated, read articles etc. In addition, the latest models bring further advantages to the table, so users can leave digital camera and Mp3 at home.
