The Los Angeles E3 has started from Monday 4th June and there are some interesting introductions on the occasion. ‘Beyond: Two Souls’ a new game by Quantic Dream was introduced at the opening of E3 conference of Sony. This is a PlayStation 3 psychological action thriller exclusively interactive game. More interestingly, Hollywood actress Ellen Page will star in Beyond in a main role of Jody Holmes, who has a unique sense of life after death. David Cage has designed the game.
Ellen Page is an Academy Award-nominated actress and her character in Beyond, Jody, tries to save her from attackers using her powers. In the game Beyond, Allen Page’s acting skills have been fully utilized. The trailer of Beyond was screened in Sony’s E3 press conference in which young and perturbed Jody Holmes is sitting in a police station with shaved head. A kind police officer is interrogating her. The officer notes a scar on her head and she appears to toss a coffee mug psychically on a wall, because of which the officer runs out of the room, scared. The sequence is quite captivating and full of apprehension and excitement.
As seen from the trailer, Beyond is very high in quality, with very clear picture. It has two excellent qualities, viz. lighting and characters. Quantic Dream has made use of v-sync.
Sony also announced some other details about Beyond: Two Souls, though it will have functionality reportedly with the motion-controlled device of Sony, the PlayStation Move. The gameplay of Beyond: Two Souls however has not been revealed yet. Thus the actual interaction between the game and the gamer is not yet clear. So also, the launch date of the game has not been decided.
A new single-player part of the forthcoming God of War Ascension game, along with a gameplay of Last of Us from Naughty Dog was revealed however.
