Flight Sims

Flight simulation video games, helicopter or airplane games, give player an opportunity to be a pilot. This genre is not something everyone like, because it takes time and patience to learn how to navigate. In recent years, these games have been graphically so improved that most of the gamers feel very actively involved, almost like they are really flying. For people who are not sure whether they would like this genre or not, there is a possibility to play free flight sims and to introduce themselves into the world of  flight simulation games.

Basically, there are two categories of flight sims – military and civilian. The borderline is not so strict, but many gamers prefer just one of these two categories. Military flight sims, also called combat flight simulator games simulate military aircraft and their operations. There are also professional combat simulators, more complex and combined with the real aircraft cockpit and actual physical recreations, used for military training. But military flight simulators played for fun usually demand that a player achieves the mission’s objectives and goals. This is usually done by flying bomber plane and attacking ground installations and targets or by flying a fighter plane and engaging in a fight with enemy aircraft. In both cases, players are able to view their targets very closely and lively. Usually series of missions are in front of the player and he/she wins the game by completing the demanded combination of objectives. Civilian flight sims usually do not have any victory demands, except if speed or accuracy is not tested. Lending a plane is very challenging, especially if the game allow player to choose various weather conditions. Flying in harsh conditions or by night can be very demanding and requires practice, skills and patience. Thinking about differences between these flight sim categories, it is clear why people usually like just one of them.
