GoD Factory: Wingmen Preview

godfactorywingmenGoD Factory: Wingmen is being developed by Nine Dots Studio and has just recently come out of a closed beta; therefore, hopefully it will be due for launch comparatively soon. Meanwhile we can get a preview of the game. God Factory: Wingmen is a space shooter.

After starting the game you have to choose two species from four and two ships from four. Human, Arblos, Guantri and Chorion are the four alternatives. Human ships are good as hit and run ships for focusing carrier parts of enemy; Arblos have the most sluggish ships but having the most brutal strength when it comes to damage; Guantri have distinct beam weapons and are good as jacks of all trades; and Chorion have medium speed tanky ships that are good for defense. These are also perhaps the best class 1 ships.

At present only one game mode is available wherein two teams of 1 to 4 players try to kill the carriers of each other. The carriers are much bigger than the ships controlled by players and have several parts that can be damaged. Damage to different parts results into different things. E.g. if hull of a carrier is destroyed it grants 20% more damage as compared to all other parts of the carrier. All players begin in their carriers’ docks where you can return to replenish ammo and get your ships renovated their shields. You have to choose two ships for every match, thus typically you need to switch between the two all through the game so as to never be using a ship having a little strength.

The fighting in the game is a lot of fun because of the ships which can now be customized and also smooth controls and the different types of weapons and abilities. As far as you have more than 4 players for a 2v2 you will have a lot of enjoyment as you attempt to take out various parts of the enemy carrier and involve in dogfights for offensive as well as defensive purposes. 1v1 mostly engage in trying to slowly rush down others’ carriers, while disregarding each other because of how difficult it is to kill an enemy in 1v1. So, the more number of players, the greater is the fun.

God Factory offers fun not only while playing but also while creating ships. With 4 classes to choose from and 12 parts required to build a playable ship, with several choices for every part available, you can create truly unique ships. Every part you choose for your ship changes the appearance of your ship too. You are able to personalize the look also by changing the paint job.

The game seems a lot like a free game and it is because of the way of progression in the game. You need to purchase all parts of your ships with credits which you get through playing games (on winning you get more). Another obstruction is the 6-rank system where each part is in a rank. You should be at rank 6 to use of purchase a rank 6 part. Everybody begins at rank 1 and ranks up gradually from playing.

In short, GoD Factory: Wingmen is a great fun game which is so engaging before release. Obviously it is going to offer more fun after release.
