Hexagon Game

Do you play hexagon? It’s a board game for two players. The board for the Hexagon game is made up of small boxes in (obviously, hexagonal) and they are arranged to form the shape of the rhombus. The players aim to complete the line of the same color from one edge to another. The board shape can also vary quite a lot, as well as the two colors of players’ chips. 

How is Hexagon played? Both players have the same number of pieces, each one has their own color. They place a piece in turns whether on the sides of the board or at the bottom or the top. Subsequent moves involve placing one new piece on the Hexagon board in a way that it belongs to a hexagon touching are least one of the second players’ pieces. The first player who succeeds in creating a line of his/her own pieces from one edge to the other is the winner and the game is over.

TV series Blockbusters has popularized the “alphabet format” of the Hexagon game: where each hexagon had an alphabet letter on it. The rules are similar, but a player cannot simply claim a hexagon as his/her own. Instead of that, after a player selects a hexagon, the question should be asked and the answer of it should begin with the letter of the alphabet found on the hexagon. In case a player answers the question correctly, the position would be won. In case the answer is wrong, the position would remain open for the other player to take.
