2048 – World of True Enjoyment

I love puzzle games, especially those in which numbers, letters or pictures are involved. But the latest craze on the web named 2048 is the most amazing puzzle game I have ever enjoyed. It is not very complicated, yet it is extremely captivating. 2048 is a game where you can sharpen your skill to play with numbers for hours and get amused at the same time.

Gameplay

It’s so simple – you just have to go on moving the tiles with an objective of bringing two tiles with the same number together upon which they merge and their numbers are added (doubled), e.g. 2 + 2 = 4, 8 + 8 = 16, etc. and your ultimate aim should be 1024 + 1024 which comes to 2048 upon which you win!

You can enjoy 2048 all alone. The game can be regarded as a sort of sliding block puzzle and resembles the Threes! app a lot, which was launched just a month before.

The Developer

2048 was developed by a 19-year old Italian – Gabriele Cirulli – who developed it in a single weekend to check if he could develop a game from scratch. He describes the game as a clone of Veewo Studio’s app 1024 and got the inspiration from Sami “Saming” Romdhana’s clone 2048. Gabriele was surprised to see more than 4 million visitors within a week.

2048 is free to play. Gabriele has launched a free app version of 2048 for Android and iOS in May 2014. The game has a got a huge approval from leading news portals like Wall Street Journal and Business Insider.
