Got your new PS4 and spending hours exploring Uncharted 4 and Horizon: Zero Dawn? But do you know that you can do so much more than this with your PS4?
PlayStation 4 has so many customization options and a number of ways to develop your gaming, storage and sharing control of games with your friends. Here are tips that will help you make the most of your PS4.
1. Organize Your Apps
The menu of PS4 is pretty intuitive. But what if you have got a pile of PS4 games and apps? You may keep scrolling sideways for hours to find what you want. But you can be more organized than that. Just click the Options button on an app and select “Add to Folder” from the side panel to send it to an already existing folder or even add a new one. Within no time, your home screen will become clean.
2. Easy Storage for Games
Short of space for games? You are allowed by all PS4 models to replace the hard drive just by removing a few screws so that you can add to the size at will. In case, if you don’t want to open up your system, you can even use external hard drives and get an extended storage for your PS4.
3. Sharing Videos and Screenshots
You’ll get the Share button on the touchpad’s left with which you can share videos and screenshots. The button introduces a menu by default that enables you to choose between videos and photos. However, you can customize the button in Options. The media can be shared straight to the social networks or saved to your hard drive to take it on a USB stick or edit in the Sharefactory app.
4. Stream to YouTube or Twitch

The Share button of PS4 can also be used to straight broadcast your game to YouTube or Twitch. Select “Broadcast Gameplay”, choose the service you like, sign in and start creating fanbase.
5. Custom Background
You will soon collect a bunch of screenshots of your feats in PS4 games. You can now use one of them as the background for your PS4. You just have to go to your gallery and select one of them to set it as the backdrop. Next you can customize your drop shadows on text so that everything becomes legible and bingo, you’ll have a new customized background!
6. Play Remotely
You can play on your PS4 even if you are not in the same room where it is. You can download a “Remote Play” app to your Mac or PC and also built-in features on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV that can stream your gameplay to another device. Your network should be quite solid for this to work, but if you wish to play in another room, you just need the right software and a controller.
7. Change the Brightness and Light Bar of Your Controller
The light bar of DualShock 4 looks cool but it is a huge drain on your battery. If you don’t want to use a PlayStation Camera to track the light bar, turning it off will save a lot of battery life for you. Just go to Setting -> Devices -> Controllers and select the brightness options and you can customize it.
Also you can build a customized controller by MegaMods for Playstation 4 to make the most of it.
Use these tips and have fun with your PS4.
