But some of them are the most popular though they are not the typical smiley or sad faces and many amongst them (crafted by twitch staff members and famous broadcasters) have inside funny stories linked to them based on the stream you visit. Here are some of the extremely popular Twitch emotes, their meanings and some examples showing you when you can use them.

KappaHD: KappaHD is the face of the erstwhile employee of Justin TV and is perhaps the most popularly used emoticon on Twitch today. It is used most commonly for trolling or indicating sarcasm. A similar-looking version of KappaHD is named Minik which is black and white.

Keepo: Keepo is a head shot of Kappa dressed up like the hero Meepo of DotA/DotA 2. Just like most other Twitch emotes, it is commonly used for denoting some sort of trolling, maybe in the chat or anything taken place on the stream.

FrankerZ: FrankerZ is the face of a dog of a Twitch staffer. It is used widely to reveal sarcasm, but also for showing playfulness.

Kreygasm: This is a head shot of Kreyd – a streamer since ages – during a state of pure delight. It is best to denote joy after an epic victory or making a big play.

FailFish: To show fails of all sorts, display the hand’full’ face of streamer Spamfish. If there’s a fail, it has to be FailFish.

SwiftRage: SwiftRage is another utterly popular face cutout of the streamer Swiftor giving vent to his fury. You can use this emote (carefully) for showing frustration, anger and rage.

PJSalt: PJ refers to Peaceful Jay, a Fighting Community stream. Most frequently used for showing despair or bitterness (normally upon a loss), i.e. going “salty”.

PogChamp: The twitch emote of disbelief – PogChamp – too is amongst the most popular Twitch emoticons. This is the head shot of Gooteks, the streamer, and is at once used whenever there is something happens which is hard to believe.
