racing simulatorIf you are passionate about motorcars and driving, you may be aware of the challenges they can bring. Some of them are speed limits, traffic jams and of course, something called responsible driving. Plus, you just get your own car to drive and not the Bentley Bentayga or Lamborghini Urus you dream of unless you can afford to buy them. However, if you are a hardcore gamer too in addition to being a driving enthusiast, you can enjoy the thrill of driving any of these expensive cars at whatever speed, with no traffic jams and without shelling out half a million dollars!

1. Racing Wheel

If you are playing an arcade racing game like Sega Super GT, a gaming console is fine for you. But if you want to enjoy a racing simulation game such as Dirt 4, a gaming controller cannot offer you the enjoyment. At such times, a racing wheel is perfect for a more immersive and natural experience.

Opt for a racing wheel that has rubber coating and a great range of rotation. It should also provide adjustable-force feedback because it gives you an alert when your tires hit a bump on the road, start losing their grip or crash into a wall.

2. Paddle Shifter

Most racing wheels have paddle shifters mounted on them. It’s perfect while driving a supercar but not quite great while driving a Japanese import or an old-school muscle car. Have a proper H-pattern paddle shifter, so as to shift gears appropriately on the track.

3. Racing Seat

As such your racing wheel can be attached to your desk, your paddle shifter can be attached to your chair and your pedals can be left on the floor. However, this is not a particularly convenient setup. Investing in a proper gaming racing simulator seat will make sure you’ll be in the optimal position to achieve that quickest track time. You can get a small racing simulator seat which you can even fold if you have a limited space, and if you have a racing simulator rig in a set area, you can buy a spacious one too.

4. Display

You can have your display set in various ways. There is the traditional three-monitor display having three similar monitors arranged next to each other. The disadvantage of this setup is that the bezels will come in your field of view. Another option is a large curved monitor directly placed in front of you. You just have to ensure to sit at a right distance and angle to view the curved screen.

5. VR Headset

If you want to enjoy full immersion, you should opt for a VR headset.

Investing in these accessories will allow you to build a decent racing rig and play racing simulation games with full fun and thrill.
