Most football gaming fans look forward to annual addition to game series. One thing is certain, EA has never disappointed us, especially not with FIFA 14. Due to its gameplay, realism and detail, FIFA games have been on the top of charts. The Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) is franchise’s closest competitor which gives the detail to all gaming aspects. However, FIFA 14 has certainly reigned supreme. FIFA 14 brings great innovation since the developers seem to be focused more on realism. On the other hand, there are no great changes when it comes to new features. So, what can we expect and what is the gameplay like? What are the changes? Well, let’s take a look!
The first thing players can notice is the menu system inside the game, which is revamped. You can switch between groups of mixed panels. Yes, it can be quite difficult to handle this innovation in the beginning, but after a while, you’ll be able to navigate between menus a lot easier. When it comes to game modes, there are no great improvements and changes, so Ultimate Team, multiplayer, career mode, standard quick play and other usual suspects stayed back in the installment. UT mode (take a look at FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Tips) is almost the same and its aim is to pick a team on chemistry basis, meaning that playing units are made not exclusively centered on stats and ability. However, it’s not to be confused with a randomly assembled playing unit. Career mode comes with few improvements, since the updated interface makes the scouting for players less tedious task than before. This means you will spend more time in gameplay compared to menu surfing.
The greatest changes can be seen in the gameplay. It feels more real, so it’s clear the developers put a lot of effort in innovating it. Well, that’s been expected, since the franchise has been constantly developing this part over the past few years. It keeps matches grounded in realism which makes FIFA different from competitors such as PES. However, not all the players are detailed the same. Accurate facial build can be seen in some players, while other are slightly off the mark. Finally, FIFA 14 is not completely different and innovated compared to the earlier installments. It’s definitely more difficult to play than before. The building attacks is a lot more difficult, which might put off some gamers, but the others will be hooked on a challenging gameplay for the rest of the year.
